About Us
Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta (TAMA) was formed in 1981. Over the years it has grown and has become an integral part of Telugu Community in Metro Atlanta and an active participant of Indian community events like 'Festival of India' held to commemorate India's Independence Day. TAMA organizes events to celebrate major festivals and organizes a picnic during summer as scheduled activities. Besides these, several other literary and cultural events go on like 'Sahiti Sadassu' (literary meet), musical nights, fund-raising programs, Ganesh Pooja, Kidfest, etc. Telugu movies are also screened by TAMA periodically... you can get movies information on this website and through emails. A school for young kids 'Mana Badi', organized with the support of several volunteers, is held on every Saturday/Sunday.
Usually the events have competitions for children of all ages called KidsFest, a social hour to interact with other members of community a cultural program followed by dinner. Cultural events organized during festivals consist of various items like dances, skits, plays, singing, mimicry, etc.
Most activities and programs are open to public and not restricted. However, members can enjoy certain benefits. Membership is open throughout the year. For more information and form go to the link. TAMA is governed by an Executive Committee elected at the end of every year and operates from Jan 1 to Dec 31. The Executive Committee is supported by several other sub-committees like Audit Committee, History Committee, Technology Committee.

TAMA regularly sends an email newsletter. You can subscribe to it by sending an email with a request. You may also request to broadcast information seeking help from community and release classified advertisements.

నమస్కారం. తెలుగు అసొసియేషన్ ఆఫ్ మెట్రో అట్లాంటా మీకు సాదరంగా ఆహ్వానం పలుకుతోంది. 1981వ సంవత్సరంలో ఊపిరి పోసుకున్న మన సంస్థ పరంపరాభివృద్ధిని సాధిస్తూ ప్రగతి బాటలో సాగుతోంది. తెలుగు సంస్కృతినీ, తెలుగు భాషను కాపాడుకోవడం, పది కాలాలపాటు నిలుపుకోవడం, ముందు తరాలకు ఘనమైన వారసత్వాన్ని అందించడం, సేవాతత్పరతని కలిగివుండడం వంటి మంచి ఆశయాలతో, ఎందరో నిబద్ధులైన కార్యకర్తల అండదండలతో, వితరణశీలురైన వేలాది దాతల సహాయసహకారాలతో నిత్యనూతనంగా భాసిల్లుతోంది మన తామా. సంక్రాంతి సంబరాలను, ఉగాది ఉత్సవాలను, మరియు దీపావళి వేడుకలను మేమంతా హాయిగా కలసి జరుపుకుంటాము. ఆడతాం, పాడతాం, ఆనందంగా గడుపుతాం. చిన్నపిల్లలోని ప్రతిభను ప్రోత్సహించే ఉద్దేశ్యంతో కిడ్స్ ఫెస్ట్ నిర్వహిస్తాం. ప్రతీయేడూ ఐదారు సాహితీసదస్సులు నిర్వహిస్తాము. తగురీతిన సాహితీవేత్తలను గౌరవిస్తాము. మనబడి కార్యక్రమం ద్వారా చిన్నపిల్లలకు తెలుగు పాఠాలు నేర్పుతాము. మన తెలుగునేలపై ఉన్న ప్రతిభకల (వంద నుండి నూటా యాభై మంది) విద్యార్థులకి ధనరూపేణా సంవత్సరానికొకసారి వేల రూపాయల ప్రతిభాపురస్కారాలు అందిస్తాము. ప్రతియేటా కనీసం రెండుసార్లు హెల్త్ ఫేర్లు నిర్వహిస్తాము. కుదిరినప్పుడు పిక్నిక్కులు కూడా చేసుకుంటాము. ఆపదలో వున్న తెలుగువారిని ఆదుకోవడంలో ఎప్పుడూ ముందుంటాము. తామా కార్యక్రమ వివరాలను, మరియు అట్లాంటాలో జరిగే ఇతర కార్యక్రమ వివరాలను ఈ-మెయిలు ద్వారా వారానికొకసారి తెలుగువారందరికీ తెలియబరుస్తుంటాము. మన భాషనీ సంస్కృతినీ కాపాడుకోవడానికి శక్తివంచనలేకుండా కృషి చేస్తూనే వుంటాం. దయచేసి తామాలో జీవితకాల సభులుగా చేరండి. తామా చేసే మంచి పనుల్లో "నేను సైతం" అంటూ పాలు పంచుకోండి.
