Articles for Souvenir

On the occasion of 30th anniversary of TAMA, a Souvenir will be published and given free to all attendees of the conference. This will consist of literary work by many accomplished members of Atlanta Telugu community, including but not limited to poems, essays, articles, stories, past events pertaining to the history of TAMA.

The Souvenir committee invites you to take part in this actively by sending in your entry. We request you to contribute your articles (poems, short stories, essays) in Telugu or English; articles with specific focus on the theme of the Conference are welcome.

General Guidelines:

  • Your article should preferably reflect TAMA 30 Convention Theme: “తెలుగు సంస్కృతి, తామా స్రవంతి”
  • While we encourage original articles, if part or whole of an article had been previously published, please provide the references.
  • Word for English and Unicode or RTS for Telugu.
  • Please limit articles to 2-4 pages, unless the content demands. Please submit only in MS.
  • Articles can be e-mailed to Suresh Kolichala, Sudhakar Vallurupalli (Souvenir Committee) at souvenir@tama.org (mobile: 678-642-6885)

Souvenir Committee is solely responsible for deciding which articles to publish and their decision is final.

Update your Membership details

Dear TAMA Life Members,

If you have already submitted or given your details to our representative, please igonre this.

TAMA will be mailing your Life Membership cards shortly to you. To help TAMA in that process, we request you to please check your membership details with TAMA.

A list of Life Members and their available data is posted on our website at www.tama.org. In order to safeguard your privacy, your mailing address or email address or phone numbers are not posted. However, we have indicated which of the above mentioned is missing in our database for each of our Life Members. We request you to please check our website and provide pertinent missing data through the online form posted on the website.

Membership cards can be used for identification purposes at our upcoming TAMA @ 30 Maha Sambaralu and also to avail special discounts at select grocery stores and Indian restaurants around the town. So, please take a few minutes to check our website and update any missing data.

In the same context you may also receive phone calls from our volunteers requesting for missing information.

Saahiti Saddassu

For all Telugu literary lovers, we like to inform you that TAMA Sahiti Sadassu is schedule for May 22nd, 3 - 5 PM est. The exact venue will be annouced shortly. Look forward for your attendance and participation in the event.

This Sahiti Sadassu's theme is going to be on 'Telugu Kathalu'. Over several decades 'Telugu Kathalu' have evolved into different dimensions. From Yaddanapudi's 70s romantic novels to Yandamuri's fictional litarature to modern stories that depict and reflect social changes and mirror the times and events. This event is planned for critical analysis of 'Telugu Kathalu' and reading some outstanding 'Telugu Kathlu' followed by interactive discussion.

We invite all Literary lovers to come forward with a specific proposal to Murthy Rallapalli (literary@tama.org). The proposal should be related to a 'Telugu Katha/kavyam/padyam' of any time. Either presenting it in a short version (upto 10 minutes) or discussing it with the audience is the intent. Any creative ideas along the way are most welcome. Looking forward for an exciting evening of 'Sahiti Sadassu 2011'.

TAMA Volley Ball Tournament

TAMA is organizing a Volley Ball tournament this year in the month of June. Interested teams are requested to register by clicking here and submitting your entry.

  • Application shall be submitted on or before 11PM Eastern Time, June 5th, 2011.
  • Entries submitted after the above mentioned deadline may not be considered.
  • Each participant should be at least 18 years old.
  • Mens team should have a minimum of 6 people and a maximum of 2 extra players.
  • Womens team should have minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 2 extra players.
  • On the day of the tournament each participant is required to sign a waiver form before participating in the tournament.
  • A participation fee of $10.00 for each TAMA member and a fee of $20 for each non-TAMA member shall be paid on or before May 31th to participate in the tournament. This fee will be non-refundable, unless the tournament is cancelled.
  • Payment can be made online at www.tama.org (Online Payments)
  • Depending on weather conditions tournament will take place on June 11 & 12 or June 18 & 19.
  • Match schedule will be announced on the June 8th.
  • New Volley balls and water will be provided by TAMA to the participants.
  • All decisions by TAMA will be final.
  • Dates are subject to change.

Manabadi

ManaBadi, the Telugu School of Atlanta organized by TAMA, will start commencing classes from this week. Classes will be held in the Sharon Forks Library, Forsyth County Public Library System, Cumming, GA.

Thank you to all those who have already shown interest in sending their kids to Manabadi. Parents interested in enrolling their kids are requested to fill out this registration form as soon as possbile. Please note that these classes are for kids from age 4 and up, with basic reading and writing skills.
