Dear Telugu Community,
This
is with respect to funds received for Mr.Suresh Penchala, an Indian
student, who met with an accident on Aug 14th, 2007. TAMA has
received $267,822.86 and we ensured that the money is kept in a
seperate account. This money will be used to pay
for his
medical expenses once TAMA receives the medical bills. We are
concerned for his health as well. We have not received any
update
from their family. We will update the site as we get latest
information.

Scholarship Program
Please participate in one of the noble projects we have taken up this
year.
As you are aware, TAMA has been
awarding Scholarships to Merit Students
in AP, India for the past 3 years. The generosity and help extended by
the Telugu Community of Atlanta in this effort has been most
encouraging and it speaks volumes about the
large-heartedness of the
donors. We are happy to announce that with your support, we will be
continuing the
Scholarship program this year too. It is expected that
the awarding ceremony will be held around
1st week of July 2008. It is
time now to appeal to your philanthropy and we expect the same kind of
warm support from our members, friends, well-wishers and donors as
before. We request one and all to
come forward and support TAMA in this
noble cause.

have recieved Yoga from Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. Sadhguru stopped
offering programs
in the USA since March/April 2007. However Sadhguru is visiting and
givng 2 hour
public talk in Atlanta on the evening of May 21st, 2008. It is always a
great opportunity
to visit a live GURU and enlightened MASTER in our tradition. I hope

Radio Program - Spice Telugu |
Dear Telugu lovers:
I would like to inform you all that we took an initiative to start
Spice Telugu - Radio program, an ideal way to reach out to our
community. There will be an hour of Telugu program exclusively for our
community. We are going on air from 27th of April, every Sunday from
5PM to 6 PM on 1040AM. This is the first time in Atlanta that a Telugu
voice will be on air. This is a great opportunity for all of us to have
our language heard on air and be informed about latest happenings. We
would like to use this platform to entertain, inform, and allow
everyone to express and share their thoughts, opinions and feelings.
As part of the designated hour, we like to bring all new and exciting
programs to entertain you. For this, we need your help. You can be a
sponsor. You can be a host, or you can be an excellent and avid
listener. We need your guidance, support and cooperation to make this
program successful in every aspect. Above all, the most important thing
that you can do -- PLEASE DONT FORGET TO TUNE TO 1040AM on EVERY SUNDAY

IASF organization is seeking high school seniors for the IASF
scholarships.
IASF has anywhere from 5-10 one year scholarships of $500-$2500 and 5
four year scholarships worth $5000.

Educational Contests

Registration for 2008 regional
contests is now open.
Educational contests in the US are designed to encourage academic
excellence among Indo-American children.
The NSF spelling, vocabulary, math, essay writing, public speaking and
geography bees are
conducted annually in two steps. Children initially participate in
regional contests.
Winners of these contests are invited for the national finals. National
top rankers are
awarded scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $250, redeemable in the
winners' freshman year of college.
There are more than 65 centers in the US and Canada.
